YAY ME!!!

I'm patting myself on the back...I am actually ahead of the game (for now anyway). I have all of my stuff cut, packed and ready to go for my class tomorrow!! This is huge for me...especially since my schedule has gone from crazy to absolutely insane!!!

Starting on Saturday, this is how the after school/weeekend schedule looks...Mondays - Brownies, Tuesdays - Swimming, Wednesdays - baseball & Tennis, Thursdays - Tennis, Fridays -Swimming, Saturdays - Baseball, Sundays - swimming...do you think we are going to be busy enough??? Thankfully most of these things are no more than 2 hours...but it means that I have to be super organized and have everything ready for when the kids get home from school...including dinner so that they can eat right away and we can leave for whatever event is scheduled for the day. I will definitely be cherishing any quiet time at the end of the day so I can relax and stamp!!

Speaking of stamping...here is the card I made last night...I followed the Mojo Monday sketch #84 and used Kenya Ketto from Stamping Bella. I watercoloured her with CTMH Key Lime, Su's Appricot Appeal and Pink Pirouette. The background is CTMH key lime and I embossed it with the CB swiss dots folder. Kenya is layered on Pink Pirouette (love that colour) and I added 3 orange crackle dots along the side. I stamped the sentiment and punched it out with my 1 1/4" circle punch then layered it on small scallop of appricot appeal cut out with my nesties, the bow is appricot appeal grosgrain from SU. The bottom piece of patterned paper is MME from the Tres Jolie line. Not my ususal colours but quite cheerful for such a gloomy day!!

A Good Start...

to my day!!

It's a PA day today so I have the kids home with me. Go figure, they were up before 7:00am when they could have slept in!! Not a bad thing though, since I was up I figured I may as well get things started. It is almost 9:30 and I have already done one load of laundry (the second is on it's way) I've cleaned two hamster cages, made breakfast for the munchkins and cleaned the turtle tank (yes, we have a turtle!). And I'm getting this post done early!!

I made this card last night for Janet's challenge #8...It was actually a challenge because we weren't allowed to do any colouring or anything...and words had to be the focal point. I've never made a card like this...I always have colouring or something and words are never the focal point.
I have been dying to use my quickkutz label die so I picked a sentiment that would fit the shape and went from there...I wasn't planning on pink and brown again for a card but when I went through my papers (I'm trying to use up some of my leftover scraps) that is what I ended up using.

My only embellishments are the flowers I punched out in chocolate chip and the pink Hero arts gemstones I added to centre of each.

Thanks for looking.....Have a fabulous weekend!!!!

Submission Day..

For Bellariffic Fridays. I made my card just now...it's ok but I don't love it...didn't love yesterdays either but it is getting better (I've been playing...). I think I have too much on mind and it is affecting my ability create...My house is chaos, the garden needs work, the laundry rivals mount Rushmore...I could go on but I'm sure you get the point!!

So here is my submission for Bellariffic Fridays...I used my newly purchased Lucy Ketto for this one. The colour combo for the challenge was pink and brown so I used up some patterned paper I had and added some raspberry baubles and some pink velvet ribbon from Fancy Pants. I also added some hot pink glitter to the dots in between the diamonds on the paper. No more detail for you today...I'm off to clean house.

Don't forget to check out the submissions tomorrow on Blogabella

Better Late....

Than not at all!! I'm late today 'cause I had my ladies class this afternoon and errands to run after that. I figure if I'm really fast I'll get this done just in time to get the kids off the bus (7 minutes and counting....)
I started this card last night and finished it this morning...I think I still need to play with the layout but I'll post it anyway.

The image is one of the new Penny Black stamps...I bought this one and another...I limited myself to just two...'cause really, I have enough stamps!!!

I used the same colours as yesterdays post (I really like this plaid paper...can you tell...giggle). I also used my new swiss cheese punch and layered some bashful blue under the strip where the holes are and added some diamond ice baubles in some of the holes.

As I said, I'm still playing...I'll let you know what I come up with!! Gotta go catch the bus now!!

I'm Still Smiling!!!

'Cause I had such a great day yesterday!! I went to Bellaland...my friend Dana was visiting from Calgary and Leslie (who lives in TO but I never see...) was going too...and SURPRISE!!! in walks my friend Karen who came up from Boston. Of course Nicky and Em were there and Janet (another friend) came too. It was a PHENOMENAL day...of course the time went way too quickly but still it was sooooo nice to see everyone.

I made this card last night, I haven't had time to make anything for the last few days so it was nice to have some quiet time to stamp. This image from Stamping Bella made me think of the day...of course a few more girls would have been better but Shopabellas was as close as I could get. It really is accurate...we all walked out of there with bags full of stuff...but then when you go to Bellaland...how can you not??

The image is stamped and coloured with copics...I cut a partial circle using We R Memory keepers paper and layered it on a piece of coral coredinations paper. I added a Bashful Blue ribbon knot at the top and some hot pink crackle dots along the bottom edge of the circle. I inked the friends part of the "bestest friends" sentiment from stamping Bella and layered it on some Bashful Blue.

The card came together pretty quickly and so did this post...good thing 'cause my day is packed...Jordan and I spent 2 hours for a 10 minute visit at the oral surgeon...I have my class tomorrow with my ladies and I have to prep everything...and I decided to take the kids to the circus tonight as a special treat...so I'm off to get all my work done so I'm ready for tomorrow!!

Thanks for looking!!

It's FRIDAY!!!

Which means it's a Bellariffic day!! I remembered to send my submission to Emily this time and I can't wait to see what all of the Bellababes and everyone else has done!! The challenge this week (actually we had 2 weeks) was using any colour combination from this picture and you had to use flowers.

I decided to use Daisy BittyBloom for my image and I watercoloured her using my Peerless watercolours. I used Daffodil Yellow as my base colour and added Flesh Tint to get some depth and shading...I love the final look of the those two colours blended. The paper is from Fancy pants, as is the velvet ribbon I used to make the knot at the top. I used tiny prima flowers and added a small dot of Orangepeel stickles to the centre. This card turned out totally different from what I had in my mind (that happens a lot!!) But I was running out of time so I had to send it in.

I decided this morning to play a little more....same supplies but this card is your standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" rather than 4 1/4" x 4 1/4". I added a strip of SU's tangerine Tango (embossed with the CB Swiss Dots folder) and placed the ribbon in behind the image. I also added a ring of Dazzling Diamonds around the image.

Thanks for looking...let me know which card you like better!!

Have a great Friday...and don't forget to hop over to Blogabella to look at all the submissions!!

Cosmopolitan Anyone??

With my hectic schedule this week and next...I could certainly use one (or two, or three...). Actually I'm more of a Killer Kool-aid kinda gal...
This weeks challenge on the the Corrosive Challenge blog was a Sketch...I like doing sketch challenges...that way all you need to figure out is the image! I decided to use cosmobella from Stamping Bella...'cause like I said...I will definitely need one by the end of the week!!

I should have looked at the layout again before I made the card, I put my striped paper in the wrong spot...here is what it should have looked like..

I used my CM oval cutter to cut out the oval...I would have liked it a little narrower but it's all I had..I'll have to check out the nesties and see if they come any narrower..I layered the base card with the back of The Paper Company - Floral stripe double sided paper and added a strip from the striped pattern down the side (that was my goof!!). I used a small strip from the front (one of the stripes in the pattern) to create my ribbon. I punched out some funky flowers with my EK punches and added a bubblegum glitter dot to the centre. I added some marble glitter dots (cappucino, I think) around the oval image. Cosmobella is layered on SU's Chocolate chip card stock. The image looked a little lost in the centre of the oval so I inked the edges with SU's regal rose ink to give a little more depth. The sentiment is another great one from...Stamping Bella...of course!!

Thanks for looking...it's beautiful outside so I'm off to try and get the garden cleaned up...Have a SUNSHINEY Day!!!

Promises, Promises

That I couldn't keep (SIGH!!!) I really did plan on making a card last Thursday night...but you as ususal my plans went awry!! It was a CRAZY weekend...with the kids home Friday and Monday and Hubby working everyday except Sunday and of course it was Easter...well needless to say... No stamping time for me!!

I did make the time yesterday after the kids went to bed, I was going through withdrawal so I had to do something!!

I made this card using Rollanda Ketto from Stamping Bella. I watercoloured her using SU's Lavender Lace, Certainly Celery and Barely Banana. I coordinated the background layers and ribbon to match the colours I used. The patterned paper is DCWV- glitter stack...I wasn't planning on using this paper but it had the same colours so it went well ( I also have a lot of it so I figured it needed using up...I'm still on my mission to use up at least 25 sheets before I buy any more paper...So far so good...but I have to admit I'm getting "itchy" to buy!!

I added 3 gold glitter dots and stamped the sentiment which is from PaperTrey Ink Mixed Messages set.
I have a busy week ahead of me...hopefully I'll have time to make a few cards!!
Thanks for stopping by!

I Did It!!

I got the candy kabobs finished in time to bring in to the school this morning. Of course I waited until the last minute and started working on them when we got home from swim practice last night. Needless to say it was a late night!!

I took a couple of pics of them but they really didn't turn out...Not much stamping involved...Just the tags that I tied to each of the kabobs...

These were relatively easy (although time consuming) except for those marshmallow things that are on each stick...they are like rocks and I was tempted to use a drill make the holes to get them on the sticks!!

Thanks for looking...come back tomorrow...I'll be making a card tonight!!

No Time

for all the things I gotta do!! No post yesterday from me (sorry!!) I was way too busy with my volunteer duties at the school and running errands. Although I really shouldn't have (my "To Do" list is a million miles long) I took time to make a card last night.

I decided I really liked the way Riding Hood red and Pink Pirouette looked on one of my previous posts so I made another...This time using Phoebe Ketto from Stamping Bella. I used the same Basic Grey - Bittersweet paper just a different pattern...this one just went perfectly with the image 'cause of all the hearts. I stamped the sentiment in Riding Hood red and added 3 cotton candy baubles beside it. The striped Riding Hood red ribbon at the top of the image is from SU.

Thanks for looking...now I have to go make 47 candy kabobs for the kids classmates for Easter...I have to have them done by tonight since there is no school on Friday...AAARGH!

It's Slushing

Do you think that is really a word?? It should be 'cause that's what it is doing outside today. It isn't really raining and it isn't really snowing...it's slushing!!

The kids were not thrilled to wake up to this weather today...especially after a gorgeous Sunday where they played baseball with the neighbours in their t-shirts all day.
Personally, I don't mind days like this...it makes it easier to get things done inside..when it is nice outside and you have to be in, all you can think about is how nice it would be if you were outside. So I have been catching up on cleaning and laundry and all those gazillion other things that need doing...oh I did take the time to make a card too!!

Janet's corrosive Challenge # 6 is about Easter or Spring...wellllll Belinda Bumbleboots from Stamping Bella is the perfect stamp for a day like today..umbrella and rainboots...what could be more "springy". I stamped her with memories black and watercoloured her using SU's Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral and Appricot Appeal. I paper pieced the umbrella and her rain boots using Kaiser's Peek-a-boo paper. I used my copics to colour in the dots and flowers on the umbrella.

I added Crystal effects to the puddle to make it look like water and stamped the sentiment "Have a sunshiney day" (also from Stamping Bella) on the bottom of the card. The polka dot patterned paper is layered on top of groovy guava and I added a celery bow and some pearl baubles to embellish the card.

On a side note...I had boots almost identicle to the paper pieced ones here for my daughter...my darling tomboy princess opted for the black utility rainboots from the hardware store instead....she said "they are better to catch frogs with"...how funny is that!!

Crazy Saturdays...

They always are, but today I have a bit of breather. Usually we get up and have breakfast and then I leave to take Jessie to swim practice and Jordan goes with hubby to basketball. Timing is crucial 'cause Rob plays basketball Saturday mornings and gets home around 10...with my extra large double double...I have just enough time to finish it and then we go our separate ways until around 1:00. After that it is house cleaning, laundry, play time outside (only if it is nice...I don't do cold/wet weather).

Today Jordan has a bday party so I told Rob to take Jessie to swim practice and I am taking Jordan to the party. It is for his best friends (twins) so I had to make two cards last night. We have to leave in about 15 minutes...just enough time to post the cards I made for the party. I kept them pretty much the same, just changed up the background layers to make them a little different.

I used Tyler the Jock from Stamping Bella and some patterned paper from one of SU's simply Scrappin' Kits. I stuck with the colours in the paper for most of my colouring and layers...Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi, and Soft Sky (all retired). The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the Bitty Birthday Set. I added the same 3 colours of ribbon (I'm so glad I stocked up on these!!) to dress up the image a bit.

Thanks for looking...and have a great weekend!!

It's a Record...

for me anyway, 3 days in a row we've made the bus!! I am so organized in the mornings it blows me away...well sort of organized...it is pizza day at school so I didn't have to pack lunches...just snacks.

So here we are 9am and I am posting to my blog. Some of you who know me are laughing cause you know this won't last (it never does!!). And I have to confess I am not really organized I just pretend I am.
So it is Bellariffic Friday and as I mentioned yesterday I have my card made...the problem is (proof of not being organized!!) I forgot to send my submission to Em (big sigh!!). But I'll show you my card anyway.

Em posted this picture for the challenge...I love the way these colours look together.
I decided to use Margarita Ketto for my card this week. I watercoloured her with SU's Tangerine Tango, Kiwi kiss and summer sun. The patterned paper is from Bo Bunny - Back to Basics and it goes perfectly with the Tangerine Tango. I used SU's Kiwi Kiss double sided satin ribbon to Tie a knot around the top layer. I added some Dazzling Diamonds to her crown and the little star on her shoe...I love her shoes...I used to have bright yellow converse just like these!! The sentiment is from SU's really retro set..I really like the font in this set.
So now hop over to Blogabella and take a look at all the fantastic submissions (minus one) that have been sent in.
Have a great day!!

We are on a Roll

Two days in a row now we've made the bus..and I made a card again this morning...I just love starting my day like this!!!!

I'm not going to show you the card I made today...It is for Bellariffic Fridays so I'll wait and post it tomorrow. I do have a card to show you though. It is one I made for a bday party Jessie went to and it was for her "boyfriend"...such as boyfriends are at the age of 8. I used Kissieface from Stamping Bella and watercoloured using SU's Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Brocade Blue and Mellow Moss. I had the patterned paper from somewhere and it went really well with the colours. I love the sentiment from SU's Hugs and Wishes set...I use it all the time, and on this card it went perfectly with the image.

Of course when HE saw the card, his reaction was EEEEWWW!!

WOW!!!

The kids made the bus today...YAY!!! So they should have since they were both up super early...and so was I. So here I am sitting and typing when I'm usually saying..."brush your teeth, brush your hair, get your shoes on, get your backpacks.... In fact I was up sooooo early I even got a card made while the kids were eating breakfast.

This one is quite simple (although most of mine are). I made it for Janet's challenge #5 which is to make a Christmas card using an animal image...I just love the polar bear circle from Stamping Bella so I used it for this card.

I stamped the image on Fabriano cold press water colour paper and coloured it in with my water colour crayons. I used my nesties to cut both the circle and the night of navy scallop in behind it. The base card is white with a layer of night of navy and then another layer of whisper white which I embossed with my Swiss dots CB folder. I tied some navy organdy ribbon around the white layer just below the polar bear and added lots of dazzling diamonds to the image.
