Oh My!!

So my last post was on the 13th of April...I have a few more cards that I need to post from all those birthdays I mentioned...but I have to say., when I signed on to blogger today I had a minor panic attack!!  They have changed their look and it totally freaked me out...I'm bad enough when it comes to the basics but now it feels like I have to figure out everything all over again.  As I am writing this my page is blank and I don't see any of the stuff I used to see so it looks like I need to play a bit and figure it all out...again!!

On to the card...In my last post I mentioned I needed to make a bunch of birthday cards.  After Hubby's, a party Jessie was going to was next in line.  I let her pick the stamp and of course she picked Posh has a present from Stamping Bella...my current fav...well at least until my next order arrives...LOL!!  The image is coloured with copics and I paper pieced the dress with some of the same DP (Bo Bunny) I used on the card.  Of course all girls love a little bling so I added some gem stones to the baga and some clear baubles to the top and bottom of the card.  The sentiment is from one of my MFT sets and I circled it with dazzling diamonds.  The Mom of the girl who received the card is a card maker herself...She loved it!!

Thanks for taking a look!

BIRTHDAYS, BIRTHDAYS, BIRTHDAYS!!

So it was Hubby's bday yesterday...not that we got to celebrate since Jessie was in a volleyball tournament that went until 8:30...and by the time we got home he was gone to his Thursday night basketball game. We were going to get up early with him in the morning and give him his presents but go figure...he had an early morning meeting and was out of the house by 5:45...just a little too early for my liking!!

I gave him his present and card late last night (courtside seats to a Harlem Globetrotters game tonight) and the kids got up with him this morning for 7:00 (much more reasonable) and gave him the rest.

The card he got was one I made using a Mo Manning digital image...the kids thought it was perfect!! I used a base card from a kit that has been in my pile of stuff for ages and added some Island Indigo paper from SU that was run through the Bigshot. The image is coloured with copics and layered on SU's more mustard. The sentiment is an old retired one stamped in Island Indigo as well. I added some grosgrain ribbon to the back of the image...I didn't think he would appreciate bling (LOL) and popped up the image with dimensionals.

we don't actually have a reclining chair but this is him on the couch being the King of XBox 360 Live...NBA 2012.

Now I've got to go make a card for a party Jessie is going to today and 2 cards for a party Jordan is going to tomorrow for twins...talk about last minute!!

thanks for stopping by!!

Another Bellariffic Friday...

Well I was planning on doing a few more challenges this week but the weather was just waaaaaay too nice...I mean seriously, how often do we get to wear shorts in March...and still be in Ontario??

Last week was March Break so of course with the monsters (oops I mean kiddies...LOL) home there was no time to stamp and now this week with the gorgeous weather I've been out in the garden working (not so much) and reading (a lot!!).

I did actually need to make a card so I decided to go for the sketch this week for Bellariffic Fridays. A very close friend of mine had a bday on Tuesday and I needed a card for her....I have tons of cards but she has seen them all so it needed to be a new one. I used Posh has a present from Stamping Bella's uptown girls and the sentiment on the front is from an old retired SU set called Really Retro. Inside the card I stamped the sentiment that comes with the stamp..."Wishing you a birthday that is just your style". I had to cut the image down a bit to make it fit my card which is still larger than normal at 4 1/2" x 6"... it pained me to cut off those beautiful shoes but it had to be done.

The image is coloured with copics except the dress which is paper pieced with a scrap from my bin (it just happened to match nicely!!) and layered on bazzill card stock. The DP is from a recent purchase at my NSLSS (that would be Not So Local Scrapbooking Store). The dotted DP was in the clearance bin but the plaid (just love it...bought 6 sheets) is MME Miss Caroline. I used SU's Pool Party and some olive taffeta ribbon to finish it off.

So I emailed my card to Em and I also posted it on Splitcoast using the keyword...so here's the question for my more blog savvy friends...other than in the gallery and my member gallery (my gallery can be found under pudge by the way....don't ask!!) how do I find all the entries under a specific keyword so I can see what other talented people have done ???? I've only uploaded a couple of cards so far... I'm still trying to figure things out.

Thanks for taking a look...and feel free to give me SCS help!!

Freshly Made Sketch Challenge

I found another sketch challenge while surfing today...and decided I wanted to play along. Jordan had a sleep over at a friends house last night and Jessie and I were up and out the door at 5:00 (yes...am) for swim practice. We were home just before 8:00 so I had plenty of time to come up with something.

I decided on one of my favourite digital snowmen from Sassy Cheryl for the Freshly Made Sketch #25. I found some Bo Bunny Christmas DP while I was cleaning out last week and decided to use it for this card. I coloured the image with copics and add some white flocking powder to the hat and coat. I layered the image and DP with SU's Bravo Burgundy and Crumb Cake and added some Crumb cake taffeta ribbon. The added a double snowflake (punched in Crumb cake and Bravo Burgundy) with a brad in the centre.

I think you'll find me using these sketches now that I've found this blog...they are right up my alley...nice and simple!!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Bellariffic Friday...

I can't remember the last time I actually participated in Bellariffic Fridays...a looooong time!! This weeks challenge was a sketch and when I saw it on Em's blog I decided to go for it. I used the last of my Uptown Girls for this one (Clarissa and Camille share a cafe). I can now say that I have inked up all of my Uptown girls...this is huge for me 'cause I still have tons of stamps (Bella's and others) that have never been inked, just goes to show you how much I loooove them!

This was another big image so I had to adjust my card size to 6" x 4 1/2". I used some more of SU's SAB DP and coloured the image with copics to match. My background layers are all SU - Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Barely Banana (now retired). I stamped the sentiment that comes with the image using lucky limeade and punched and layered with my oval punches. I couldn't quite get the sentiment to fit so I had to cover up part of the image...just the shoes though so it's ok. The barely banana layer was run through the BS using one of my CB folders...I decided it was perfect 'cause it matched the spots on the coffee cup. A smaller image would have worked better but I really wanted to use this one and this is as good as it gets.

Thanks for stopping by!

Take 1, Take 2, Take 3...

I'm using another one of Stamping Bella's Uptown Girls (Pattie and Dottie Friends Forever)for these cards...I made 3 of them using the same colours and paper but slightly different...I can't decide which one I like best. I will need a card for Jessie's BFF at school and this image was perfect. I'm using the first one to give to her 'cause it's the one that most looks like Jessie and Kelty...Kelty is half Jamaican and her hair is gorgeous and curly just like in this image!!

I loved the Bo Bunny DP I found at my LSS but I had a tough time getting it into my layout so it would show...The images are coloured with copics to match the paper and I changed up the dress and scarf colours just for fun. The last image is a rectangle 'cause I misjudged how much space I'd need to cut my oval...I guess I could have just stamped it again but I had already cleaned and put the stamp away and was too lazy to get it out again. I used my nestabilities to cut the scalloped oval to layer in behind and realized it didn't really fit so I had to adjust things to make it work. I added some rhinestones in various places and some satin ribbon on a couple of them...I think the rectangular one is my least favourite and the middle one is my most favourite...what do you think??

Thanks for looking

Another Sketch Challenge

This one is from MFT's Wednesday sketch club..Sketch #61. I don't know if I will actually post this on Split coast...I've never done it so I'm not sure how and I don't know if I really want to wrap my mind around it right now.

Jordan is still home sick...I'm hoping he'll be back at school tomorrow and at least I'll have one day to catch up on some things. He really isn't high maintenance other than hauling out all his toys etc... but I can't get any errands done and I have a bunch on my list.

Anyway...On to the card! I made this using MFT's Who's That E Girl set...the first time inking it too! The background layers are MME's Wild Asparagus (blue) and the yellowy-orange is co'ordinations. I used some Cosmo Cricket DP to paper piece the couch and then used the flip side to add the third layer. The image is coloured with copics and I used my stardust glitter pen on the laptop. The sentiment is stamped in SU's Baja Breeze and comes from the same set. I added a strip of satin ribbon to follow the layout...now that I'm actually looking at the picture I took, I should have made the skirt a little darker to coordinate with the ribbon and rose red paper I used...Oh well.

Thanks for stopping by...

MOJO Monday...on Tuesday

I decided to go for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge...It was definitely a challenge given the fact that I have my 9yr old son home for the week 'cause he's sick. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew exactly which image I was going to use and the paper...the only challenge was finding the time to put it all together.

The image is one of the many digi snowmen in my collection from Sassy Cheryl. I found the sheet of striped DP from Imaginisce when I was cleaning up my work space (It's pretty old, at least a couple of years...maybe more) and layered it on Cherry cobbler after punching the scalloped edge. The background layer is MME Wild Asparagus...I bought it on clearance at my LSS..the pattern on the other side is not at all my style but I decided that this side would work well for backgrounds. The image is coloured with copics and sponged with Cherry cobbler around the edges...then layered on SU's Blue Bayou (loooong retired). The snowflakes are punched out of some random scraps and I added blue brads (recollections) to the centre. The sentiment comes from the MFT set " a scarf for three" and is stamped in Cherry cobbler ink.

Thanks for stopping by...Hopefully I'll have a little more time to stamp this week! Jordan is on a new antibiotic...hopefully this one will clear things up a little faster.

A Super Fast Card...

As the kids were getting on the bus this morning (3 days in a row now!!) Jordan says to me..."Hey Mom, it's Mr. Reynard's last day today...can you make him a card?" Jordan has had a substitute teacher since the beginning of January while his regular teacher was off for surgery. It was a bit of a rocky start since Jordan is not good with change but after the the first week or so things smoothed out and Jordan decided he really liked him.

I had to get the card to the school for first break which is at 10:45 so I didn't have a ton of time..I also decided to add a starbucks gift card so I had to run out and get that too...

I don't love the card but all things considered since it was a rush job, it turned out ok.

The image is one from stamping bella...teacher fella...and the only masculine teacher stamp I own so it isn't like I had much choice. The paper is some really old crate designs and basic grey. I coloured with copics (not particularly well...) and added some ribbon and glitter dots to finish it off. I pulled out my teacher sets and used the front sentiment from MFT's a la modes "you rule" and the inside reads "You make learning fun" from MFT's Teacher's Pet set. The writing on the chalk board is done with a white gel pen.

I made the deadline and even managed to pick up a sub for Jessie and Wendy's for Jordan as a "special" lunch treat.

Have a Great Weekend!

It was snowing...

Yesterday that is when I sat down to make these cards...Today as I am posting this it is a balmy 4 degrees...The kids decided it was sooooo warm they shouldn't have to wear coats to school...Nice try but no dice!!

The kids actually made the bus today...it worked out perfectly 'cause I was meeting a friend for coffee and for once I wouldn't be late! It was kinda weird having time to myself without the rush of getting them to school I actually felt like something was wrong...how twisted is that!!??

Anyway, I did take some time yesterday to make a card..well two actually but they are almost the same. I used one of the digi snowmen I have from Sassy Cheryl (it was snowing after all..) I used some of my MME Christmas DP for the background ( I cut out the part that had the giant Santa) and the polka dots is also MME from the laundry line series. I used SU's Pool Party and Cherry Cobbler for my layers and also inked around the image with Pool Party ink. On the one card I used my nesties to cut out and layer the image. I added some dazzling diamonds at his feet and all around the outline of the image. The rhinestones are Kaisercraft and the bow is SU's taffeta ribbon (it's riding hood red so it doesn't quite match...). On the second image I didn't leave enough space when I printed it so I ended up just cutting it to a square and layering it. I almost like this one better 'cause you can see the DP a little more. I used the same ribbon for the bow but added some glitter dots from Stamping Bella at the top of the image. The sentiment comes from an MFT a la modes set "Candy Cane Kisses".

Yay me, two Christmas cards ready to go..LOL

TFL!!

I wish this was me!!!

Sitting on a pile of suitcases ready to go somewhere....anywhere....as long as it is warm. I'm still hibernating although it has truly not been a bad winter...I just really need 30 degrees and sun!!

It won't happen this winter...hubby is too busy at work and can't get the time off. I did just find out that my big bro is getting married...in Australia at the end of the year so we might be making a trip down under...in the mean time...I'll just wait for summer here and cross my fingers that it comes sooner rather than later.
I used Molly makes a detour from Stamping Bella (yes another uptown girl...are you thinking Billy Joel like I am??). I am actually going to hold onto this one for a friend who has a bday in June...she is an inflight attendant with Air Canada so I figure she'll get a kick out of this!

The DP is Bo Bunny from the sweet tooth line...yes I caved and bought some new paper...I couldn't resist the colours...and of course, the stripes!! I coloured with copics to match the paper and layered the image on SU's rich razzleberry. The background layer is DCWV from a stack I have and the ribbon is Fancy Pants. I added some champagne glitter dots from stamping bella. Now I just have to put the card somewhere safe...and somewhere I will remember for when it is time to send it off!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Change of Plans...

I've decided that my aunt is going to get a different card for her Birthday...it was pretty easy to justify the change (in my mind anyway...) and the Posh has a present card looks sooooo pretty sitting on my bookshelf. Well, it looks okay...but once I clean up my workspace she'll stand out much more and then look sooooo pretty!! LOL.

I also took the card to the post office to mail and found out that due to the size it would be about $5 to mail it...so she is getting one that will only cost me $1.80. This one is better anyway, my Mom is there with her for her birthday so I made the card to look like the two of them (minus a few years since they are both 69 this year...).

I used another uptown girl from Stamping Bella...this one is called Felicity and Blair Living Life. My Mom and Aunt are returning from a 33 day cruise so they are definitely "living Life"!!

The card size is 4 1/2" x 6" but it is within the measurements needed for regular mail so I'm good to go. I coloured the image with copics and used my stardust pens to add glitter to the shoes and the cupcakes. I was going to paper piece the skirt but once I had it cut out it didn't look right with cardigan with all the little ruffles along the bottom. I added a small clear rhinestone for the button on the cardigan and some pink ones from Kaisercraft at the top and bottom of the card. I stuck with the colours in DP (S.E.I) using regal rose and pumpkin pie from SU for my layers since they matched best. The sentiment is SU as well from the petite pairs set punched out with my oval punches.

It isn't as cute as my Posh card but I think she'll like it...and she'll never know about the switch!!

ANOTHER UPTOWN GIRL

I really love the Uptown Girl stamps from Stamping Bella...the only thing is they are really big so the cards I am making with them tend to be....really big! This card size is 6" x 6", the last one I posted was 4 1/2" x 6"...at least I have envelopes that will fit the cards!

I used this stamp (Posh has a Present) to make a birthday card for my aunt in Germany...I might try again and see if I can make it work on a standard size card...I know it is "do-able"(is that a word??) 'cause I just got a card in the mail from my friend Dana (THANK YOU DANA!!!) she used an uptown girl as well but her card is a standard size and is super cute!!!

I used my new SAB DP from SU...I am in love with this stuff...I have about 5 packages so it should last me for a bit. It took me a while to figure out my layout (next time I'll just find a sketch to follow) but I really like how it turned out. The colours are all SU...Peach parfait, lucky limeade, calypso coral and poolparty. I coloured the image with copics and paper pieced the dress. I added some glitter dots from Stamping Bella and used my stardust pen to go over the shoes and make them sparkly. I love how this card turned out...I'm not sure I can give it away..LOL!!

BRAGGING RIGHTS!!!!!!

It has been a crazy week since the weekend and it isn't over yet until Sunday. I haven't had time to do much since I had a class to prepare for Tuesday and my club this coming Sunday...in between I had a volleyball tournament for Jordan yesterday, a basketball tournament for him this coming weekend, A business function to go to with hubby tonight, Jessie's bday tomorrow and of course her swim meet this past weekend in London...could I be any busier??

Time for some bragging!!

As I mentioned in a previous post, Jessie qualified to swim in the Western Ontario Regional Championships this past weekend...she had a phenomenal weekend taking the bronze medal in her 200m backstroke and the GOLD in her 100m backstroke. The 100m back almost put me into heart failure it was sooooo close...like Olympic finishes close (okay, okay....mini olympics). Seriously though...she was seeded second and the entire race she was right beside the girl seeded first...it came down to the finish where she out-touched the girl by 3/10ths of a second!!! It was amazing and of course she is on cloud nine and wearing her medals proudly wherever she goes. She also placed 5th in both of her freestyle events but she is a backstroker and loves those events best.

In between all the chaos I received my shipment of new Stamping Bella stamps....all uptown girls!! I took a quick break (really quick) to make this card...it could be for Jessie as long as those drinks are Shirley Temples...LOL...but it is really for my cousin in Germany!

The DP is all Kaiser Craft layered on SU's Early espresso. I coloured in the image with copics and paper pieced the dress using the same DP. I used my black glaze pen on the shoes to make them shiny and added some gemstones at the top and on the sentiment. The Birthday Girl sentiment comes from the "a la modes" set Birthday Girl from MFT.

I have more Uptown girls that I can't wait to use but it will have to be next week.

Thanks for stopping by :o)

Video Girl

A few posts ago I showed you a card I made using video boy by Mo Manning...this is the "girl" version of that card. the image is digital, also a Mo Manning . I made this one for a friend of Jessie's who is into video games, although it seems that other than Jessie and her friend, not too many girls get into the whole gaming system thing...at least not in our world.

I the background layer is Bazzill and the patterned pieces are Kaisercraft. The image is coloured with copics and cut out using my circle nestabilities. I inked the edge of the image with SU's pool party to tie it in with the background layer.

The sentiment is from Stamping Bella and inside reads "you rock" stamped and layered using Wister Wonder from SU. I used diamond ice baubles at the top of the card for some embellishment.

Jessie's friend loved her card...now Jessie wants me to make one for her as well, though I'm not sure what she'll do with it!!

Thanks for taking a look!

Just for Jessie!!

So here's the deal...We are heading to London (ON) for the Western Ontario Regional Swimming Championships this coming weekend. My 10yr old daughter Jessie (like you couldn't figure that one out!!) will be swimming in 4 events. She qualified to swim in 6 but we are keeping it to 2 events per day...200m freestyle & 200m backstroke on Saturday and the 100m free and 100m back on Sunday. She has been working really hard and is thrilled that she qualified to swim...so I decided to make her a card.

Usually when I make a card I make 3-4 of the same so that I have extras on hand...this time I made only one...JUST FOR JESSIE!I actually followed the sketch layout for this weeks challenge on Karen Giron's blog for the Sweet Sunday Sketch...I've even linked up my card!!

Jessie LOVES pinks and purples so I dug through my stash and came up with this paper from Basic Grey -June Bug and Sugar Rush...yeah, yeah, I know...really old!! I layered it on some Bazzill paper that matched and then used SU's pale plum to layer the image. The image is one of the a la modes from MFT called Dream Big...just perfect for Jessie's card!

I found some pearls that matched the colours perfectly (from the $ store I think) and added them to the top of the image and the sentiment. Both the image and the sentiment are edged in dazzling diamonds and I added some faux stitching around the edge of the patterned paper...I was too lazy to pull out my sewing machine...LOL.

I think I'll tuck the card in her swim bag where she keeps her cap and goggles...that way she is sure to find it at the beginning of the meet...keep your fingers crossed for my girl!!

Crazy weekend!!

I was super busy with a Basketball tournament for Jordan in Brantford this weekend....after a crazy week with swimming and a volleyball tournament with the school which went until 9pm on Tuesday...Getting the kids up for school on Wednesday was a challenge to say the least...and they still aren't making the bus!

We also had snow which made the drive to Brantford a little slow but it wasn't too bad.

I've got another Christmas card for you today...I have made some new cards but I figure I may as well get the older ones out of the way first...I love this digital image from Sassy Cheryl...Figure 8 snowman. I went with a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square card for him since the image is pretty big. I coloured with copics to match the striped dp from Kaiser. The other patterned paper is Basic Grey, eskimo kisses which is a couple of seasons old... I even added some flocking around the bottom of his coat and on his hat to make them look "fluffy".

The sentiment is from an old SU set and I added the bow to the top of the oval. I used Stamping Bella's crackle dots (pickle I think...) along the top edge. I really like how he turned out...colours and everything...I liked all my Christmas cards this year...but I think he is one of my fav's!!

Thanks for stopping by...

Yay Me!!

Did you see??? this is my 7th post this month...I have now posted more than double in one month than I posted ALL last year!!!

We got a dusting of snow and it actually looks pretty outside and I don't mind since it is relatively mild! So to go with the snow...another snowman Christmas card (I mentioned it was my theme this year...probably next year too!!). This image is really, really, really old from Sunshine Designs...I got it way back when I worked at a stamping store...I don't even know if you can still get it.

The paper is from MME...I used one side for the background piece and then the other side (with the red dots) to paper piece the scarf and the strip down the side. I layered with SU's riding hood red and blue bayou (retired). For the detail I added crystal effects to the buttons and some dazzling diamonds along the bottom of the image. I also sponged around the image with riding hood red ink...it looked a little plain with all the white showing. The ribbon is from SU and the glitter dots are Stamping Bella. The colouring on this card was minimal but cutting out the scarf took a bit of time!

Thanks for looking

More baby cards...

Elephants and Giraffes...you already saw one Giraffe baby card so I'll show you the elephant one today and the "other giraffe" next time. I made a boy and a girl card with these as well...I didn't think to ask if they knew what the baby's gender was...

The image comes from a CTMH set that has been buried in my closet for a while...The set is called You're Great and has a bunch of animals and sentiments. It isn't meant for a baby card but I decided that the elephant would work. The colours I used are SU's so saffron and pretty in pink...the patterned paper was just in my pile and could be from anywhere. I added the sentiment (from an old SU set) and some diamond ice baubles from Stamping Bella.

For the boy card I used up some scraps and bits that were lying around. I kept the layout the same but used Stamping Bella's glitter dots instead of baubles on this one. On both cards the elephant is coloured in with copics... this was the easiest colouring job ever!!

Thanks for having a look!

Game On!!

Another digital image from Mo Manning...I have tons so you'll see her name pop up a lot...I also have this image as a girl...once I find the picture I took I'll post it too...

I was trying to sort out my pictures to find the other baby ones I made by request...I did find them but I also found this one so you get to see this one today and the baby ones next time. I originally made this card for a friend of Jordan's who moved to Barbados...when I showed it to a few friends I got requests for about 10 more...it would seem that this card is perfect for any boy between the ages of 6-16...actually probably almost any age of the male species!!

If you change the hair colour to white blonde it could be Jordan...if you made it recede a little and added some curl...it would be my hubby!!LOL...shh don't tell him I mentioned the receding part.

Soooo...Ryan moved to Barbados in the middle of August...which means that is when I made the card...which also means I don't remember any of the details...I know the background paper is Basic Grey and I coloured with copics...but that is about it!! I added antique copper brads and some SU grosgrain ribbon for embellishment...it is a "boy" card so I didn't want to do too much. The sentiment is from Stamping Bella and the inside reads "I'll miss you". I've made quite a few of these using birthday sentiments... they are perfect cards for Jordan's friends!!

Thanks for taking a look

I Like This Winter Weather...

It is kinda gloomy out there today...but I will take this over cold and snow any day!!! It's January and we are going to have 8-10 degrees. I have to admit that every year I dislike winter more and more...it must be an age thing 'cause it just keeps getting worse and all I want to do is hibernate until summer returns (well at least spring!!)

My kids aren't too happy about it though...so far they have only had a couple of days for sledding!!

Needless to say (not that I am complaining!!)...with this weather I didn't feel like posting a Christmas card so I opted for these instead. I made them a while ago (September I think...) a couple of people I know asked for baby cards so I came up with a few to give them options...these are from the first round. I made one for a girl and one for a boy...somewhere in my pile I have a "neutral" one for a girl or boy (greens and yellows) but I didn't take a picture of that one. The giraffe is a digital image from Mo Manning...love, love, love her images... I coloured it in with copics and for the girl card added glitter around the circle. I can't remember the paper I used, I can't remember where the sentiment is from although I think it is SU...How bad is that...goes to show you I shouldn't wait 4 months to post a card I've made!

Thanks for taking a look!

Candy Cane Kisses

I mentioned in my last post that the sentiment I used was from the MFT set Candy Cane Kisses...well this card uses the image from that set.

The paper I used for the background was on clearance at Michael's...10 sheets for $1...needless to say I have a lot!! I used my sizzix dies to cut out the image...this image is small enough to use my narrow ovals which don't get much use. I coloured with copics and added some Stamping Bella baubles (diamond ice) and some riding hood red taffeta ribbon for the bow. The detail doesn't show but I edged the oval with dazzling diamonds and filled in the candy cane with crystal effects. Inside the card I used the sentiment from the set..."Sweet Holiday Wishes". Don't ask me about the striped paper I used...I can't remember where it is from..LOL

Thanks for stopping by.

Another digi...

Here is another one of my digi images from Sassy Cheryl...I liked this one but when I finished it I decided that the colours weren't Christmasy(is this a word??) enough....I still used the cards but next time I think I'll stay away from the old (I mean really old) basic grey figgy pudding paper.

I ended up using more mustard, bravo burgundy and sage shadow for my layers...not really Christmas colours, but they matched the patterned paper I used. I think it is the mustard that I don't like in the combination.

The Be Merry sentiment comes from the MFT a la modes Candy Cane Kisses set. I added a few gems along the bottom of the sentiment and a satin bow at the top to balance the card.

Thanks again for taking a look!!

How Quickly we forget!!

Seriously...it has been a loooooong time (almost a year!!) since I've posted on my blog...It would seem that I have forgotten everything about blogging...not that I was ever that great but at least I knew the basics. I had to re-learn everything...including how to just login so I could post! I think I have it all figured out now so hopefully I'll be able to be somewhat consistent and won't forget the basics again. The kids are keeping us super busy with too many activities on the go...Jessie swims 6x a week, Jordan has rep basketball 3x a week and rep baseball has already started too...between swim meets and basketball tournaments, we don't have single weekend for the next 6 that aren't on the road to somewhere for something.

While it may seem like I fell off the face of the earth, I didn't...and even though I haven't posted in a year, I have been making cards and taking pictures of them so that when I did get back to my blog I would have something to show!! I'm going to start with my Christmas cards...I didn't get to make as many as I would have liked, so only a select few actually got one...but the ones I did make I absolutely loved!!

My theme this year ended up being snowmen...I found some digital images that were way too cute to pass up and ended up using them (mostly). I tried to use up old Christmas papers that I have and coloured the images with copics to match the paper. The detail doesn't really show in the picture but the puddle around my "melting" snowman is filled in with Crystal effects and then sprinkled with dazzling diamonds. The image is from Sassy Cheryl and I added a couple of dots from Stamping Bella and a satin ribbon bow for the embellishments.

Thanks for taking a look...I'll be back!!
